1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on CRNA Quest, we collect:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
  • Usage data: Quiz scores, exam results, review activity, XP earned, streaks, and achievement badges.
  • Device information: Browser type and general device information for analytics and performance optimization.

Do not enter patient information. Stripe processes payment details; we store purchase and access records but not full card numbers. Analytics may include coarse country and device information.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the CRNA Quest study platform.
  • To track your study progress, XP, levels, and streaks.
  • To display your name and score on the leaderboard (your display name is visible to other users).
  • To generate aggregate analytics about question difficulty and user performance (no individual data is shared).
  • To improve the quality of questions and study materials.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Service providers process data needed to operate the app, including Firebase/Google Cloud for accounts and storage, Stripe for payments, our SMTP provider for email, and Vercel and our analytics service for performance and usage measurement. Your display name and study statistics may be visible to other CRNA Quest users through the leaderboard feature. Aggregate, anonymized data may be used for educational research purposes.

5. Your Rights

  • Access: You can view all your data through the Profile and Settings pages.
  • Update: You can update your display name and password in Settings.
  • Delete: You can request account deletion in Settings. We cancel future subscription billing and remove your account and study records. Payment records retained by Stripe and limited security/deletion records may remain; backup copies expire under their retention schedules.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

CRNA Quest uses local storage to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode) and to keep you signed in via Firebase Authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or sell any data. A notice on your first visit confirms this.

7. Children's Privacy

CRNA Quest is designed for graduate-level nurse anesthesia students and is not intended for children under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of CRNA Quest after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
